How it is calculated

Heat needed (units per day) = litres × 4.186 × temperature rise ÷ 3,600, divided by heater efficiency, plus standby loss. The extra bill uses the step tariff on top of your other use.

Results are estimates for planning, not bills. Your utility’s bill is final. For generator hookups use a changeover switch installed by an electrician.
